Izsak MARTHA

* * *

you are
the moment frustrated
of embraces
I am
the watch tower
over thousands of horizons
you are the hawk
who has never truly
left
I am the dry haven
calling from nothingness
waves which don’t want to keep silent
you are
the one who
never had a name
I am
the one who called your name
for the first time
you are the thirst
of those who made no halt
at sources
I am
the one who has born
by mistake
you are
the love risen
to the rank of law
I am
the poem untold
in the watch tour

EAST OF EDEN

east of Eden
the sons of God have come
to the daughters of the earth
because they were beautiful
when somewhere east of Eden
I met the look of your eyes
descending from immortality
our forefather was forging history
Adam, adama,
where did the rainbow rise
east of Eden
the look of your eyes is the forbidden fruit
give me your hand
son of the earth
as I am conceived by a God
and a woman of clay

POST TENEBRAX LUX

nights these nights
out of the constelations inflorescence
nights upon the pink sunset
night of watch
at the head of the dying one’s bed
nights unfound
locked up in the dark plaits
in the hot arm
nights upon nights
upon darkness
upon nothing
upon light
    this night
    this fight without conqueror
this light

THE STAGE

I was a timid child
always behind the stage
I was sitting and listening Chopin
when dad took me to the theatre first
I’d have liked to be a star but my
ill made legs not stuck to the floor
nothing remained for me but contemplate
clowns and the prima-donnas
and ever falling from stage to stage
I came to know Chopin
